I agree...can't beat it for all the infotainment out there including traffic.
That would raise the costs of subscriptions substantially not to mention mixing activities that draw emotions into the equation with something that requires a level and clear head is dangerous.
It took an hour of driving on sunday before it didn't say Updating on the screen.
The Honda sits longer than the soul does and it has never said anything about updating.
Have had Sirius in both our Prius and Sienna van for years.
I got a great price back then, and they are continuing the cost reduction for when I transfer the subscription from the Prius, to the Soul AFTER my free subscription runs out in the middle of September.
Replaced the antenna and it worked for a few minutes, then went back to the same old thing after calling Sirius to send the new signal.
Sadira s smile faded a little, obviously not happy to be turned down, but her words or voice did not reflect her disappointment, Yes Mistress, if that is your wish.
I did it with radio on and listening to sirius with the "updating" message on the screen.
I removed power from my SIR-ECL1 by unplugging the white nylon connector from it. I plugged the nylon connector back in and the music started playing again with the "updating" message on the screen.
I just let it run through the "update" mode and it is over and done with in a matter of seconds and the radio continues on playing where it left off of the that station - thank god!
Otherwise, I would be mad if it kept "freezing" up. Have replaced the ECL1 with another one, and it won't even let me select "Sirius" in the source options. Put the old box back in and it hangs up on "Updating", but will actually let me select Sirius in the source options.
