This chapter describes how these counters can be accessed from a Tcl application to monitor system performance.Performance counters allow the operating system and applications to provide interested parties with data regarding their utilization of various resources and other measures related to performance.I also had the pleasure of demonstrating this prototype at Microsoft’s Community Connections in Atlanta in front of my colleagues. Developers now have access to free and inexpensive developer tools that can help find and fix many common application problems.
